Patients remain fully conscious during their treatment and able to respond to commands. People with dental phobia might request oral sedation for basic treatments like dental fillings or crowns. It’s also used for more intensive procedures, such as wisdom teeth removal. A lingering drowsiness or slight amnesia of the procedure are common effects. It’s recommended to have a ride home afterwards if you plan on receiving oral sedation.
